Our Director
Phil Cheasebro was born and raised in Aztec, NM and moved to Alaska in 2009. Phil has been a member of many ensembles throughout New Mexico, Colorado, Alaska and New York. Phil sings with the Anchorage Opera, Alaska Chamber Singers, and has performed with the New York Lyric Opera. Phil holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Between stints in Alaska, Phil was a musical director for the New York City based Big Apple Chorus, as well as associate musical director for the Voices of Gotham. Phil has also been involved in the local Alaska a cappella University program, sponsored by Alaska Sound Celebration Chorus (member of SAI Sweet Adelines International) and "Men Can Sing" sponsored by the Midnight Sons. Phil was co-chair of the regional Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) Evergreen District (NW US and western Canada) Harmony Platoon event, now hosted every year since 2012.
Phil is an excellent a cappella vocal educator, makes learning music fun and excited to bring the joy of a cappella singing to Alaska!
